The Planning Factory is porting it’s Impact Planner tool to the Jedox PALO Open Source OLAP tool. We plan to complete the process during Q3 2008. Eventually we plan to release an Open Source W.S.S.I. Planning tool over the internet with associated online training courses for developers, administrators and end users. Our goal is to create a global community of merchandise planners in retail organisations of all sizes and types. We’ll post more information here as it becomes available.
Turkish based training & consultancy company Soysal have partnered with TPF to provide Merchandise Planning Training and consultancy for the Turkish market. Soysal will localise and deliver TPF's training materials in this growing market.
In late November 2007 John Hobson presented two sessions on Merchandise Planning theory and practice at the Soysal “Perakende Gunleri - Retail Days” conference in Istanbul. This conference attracted over 3,000 delegates. John's sesssions were on Merchandise Planning as a Strategic Activity and the Anatomy of the Open to Buy.
Builders’ merchants Jewson have extended the use of their TPF designed financial budgeting model to further areas of the business. Jewson have been a client for 10 years now.
Cambridge based Domino Printing Sciences are creating a TM1 based financial budgeting system with the help of TPF. The implementation was completed within budget and on time for this year’s budgeting round.
In June 2007 Liwa Enterprises of Abu Dhabi invited John Hobson to present the “Introduction to Merchandise Planning” course for their brand managers and buyers. The 3 day event at the Sheraton Towers Resort Hotel in Abu Dhabi was a great success. Liwa’s delegates also spent time completing the on line course by way of reinforcement.
